The schedule of activities for election into executive positions in the Sandwich Programme of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for the 2022/2023 Academic session is as follows:

Release of 2022/2023 Election Guidelines for commencement of the electioneering campaigns in the Sandwich programmes

Formation of Electoral Committees by the Sandwich Management and submission of the lists of Electoral Committees to the Dean of Student Affairs
4 Thursday,

08/02/2024

Online filling and submission of nomination forms
5 Friday,

09/02/2024

CITS generates and submits a list of contestants to the DSA
6 Monday,

12/02/2024

Release of names of contestants on the University website and Student Affairs Notice Board
7 Tuesday,

13/02/2024

Presentation of manifestoes (to end by 6.00p.m.)
8 Wednesday,

14/02/2024

Elections by e-voting in all Faculties and Departments (to hold between 9.00a.m.-2.00p.m.)

 

Students running the Sandwich Programme should note the following:

  1. The Sandwich Election Committee shall comprise representatives from each Department involved in Sandwich Programme.
  2. All registered students for the 2022/2023 session are eligible to vote.
  1. All final-year students are eligible to vote but not eligible to contest.
  2. All 2022/2023 freshers are eligible to vote but not eligible to contest.
  3. Students who have matriculated in a post-secondary/higher institution other than the University of Lagos are not eligible to serve in the Electoral Committee or contest for any position.
  4. Manifesto should be presented at the contestants’ faculties and should end by 6.00 p.m. when students are physically on campus. Otherwise, manifestos should be presented on Sandwich Department and Faculty electronic platforms.
  5. Elections are to start at 9.00 am and close at 2.00 pm. The results of the election will be printed out at CITS in the presence of representatives of contestants, Security Unit, Dean of Student Affairs, Sandwich Management and Chairmen of Electoral Committees. Subsequently, same result will be posted on the University website.
