UNILAG Staff School: Internal & External Advertisement for Non-Teaching Positions

Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified applicants for the post of:

  1. Head Teacher (CONTISS 15)
  2. Deputy Head Teacher (CONTISS 14)

DESCRIPTION:

The University of Lagos Staff School was established on October 10, 1966, as a Primary School for the children of staff of the University. The school currently has over 1,500 pupils and dedicated, qualified and experienced teachers in the two campuses, Akoka and CMUL Annex, Idi-Araba.

A. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Head Teacher (CONTISS 15):
  • B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.), B.A(Ed.) or B.A., B.Sc., and PGDE from a recognized institution with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division and NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption/Exclusion Certificate. Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Certificate is compulsory. Higher degree will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 24 years teaching experience and must have been an Assistant Head Teacher for at least 2 years. Also, must have evidence of administrative experience, proven leadership ability, evidence of professional managerial training and administrative experience in a school of similar status.
  • The applicant should submit a written vision not more than 300 words for the job and must not be older than 60 years of age as at June 1, 2025.

2. Deputy Head Teacher (CONTISS 14):

  • B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.), B.A(Ed.) or B.A., B.Sc., and PGDE from a recognized Institution with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption//Exclusion Certificate. Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Certificate is compulsory. Higher degree will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 21 years teaching experience and must have evidence of administrative experience, proven leadership ability, evidence of professional managerial training and administrative experience in a school of similar status.
  • The applicant should submit a written vision not more than 250 words for the job and must not be older than 56years of age as at June 1, 2025.

B. TENURE

1. Head Teacher (CONTISS 15):

The successful candidate shall hold office for a single non-renewable term of five (5) years to commence from the date of appointment.

2. Deputy Head Teacher (CONTISS 14):

The successful candidate shall hold office for an initial term of two (2) years from the effective date of appointment, renewable for a second term.

C. SALARIES

The salary is competitive and comparable with those of similar schools (CONTISS 14 and CONTISS 15 respectively)

D. CONDITION OF SERVICE

As contained in the approved conditions governing the service of Senior Staff of the University.

E. GENERAL REQUIREMENT

All applicants must be ICT compliant as there will be IT proficiency test for all applicants and MUST have SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in 5 subjects including Mathematics and English.
