UNILAG Press Unveils “Top Reader” to Boost Access to Scholarly Publications

As part of efforts to enhance access to scholarly publications, strengthen research dissemination and create new opportunities for authors and publishers in the University of Lagos, the UNILAG Press is introducing a new e-publishing platform known as Top Reader to all Faculties.

Top Reader is designed to provide a digital platform through which researchers, academics, students and other readers can access published materials while also offering authors and publishers opportunities to derive financial value from their publications through digital access and distribution.

Through this initiative, UNILAG Press aims to expand the reach of scholarly works and strengthen the University’s digital publishing and knowledge-sharing ecosystem.

Ahead of the official launch of Top Reader, UNILAG Press will hold a series of stakeholders’ consultations and demonstrations on the platform’s benefits to Faculties and other members of the academic communities.

The engagement will highlight values derivable from Top Reader, such as;

  • Improved access to academic publications for Faculty members and students
  • Increased visibility for Faculty publications
  • Enhanced support for teaching and learning
  • Stronger research dissemination
  • Institutional knowledge sharing
  • Potential financial value from publications
  • Wider engagement and collaboration

The demonstration will also enable Faculty members to explore the platform’s features, assess its relevance to their academic and research objectives, and provide feedback to guide further refinement ahead of the official launch.

The Engagement and Demonstration fora in Faculties across the University, will hold as follows:
