Schedule of Activities for Election into Executive Positions in Sandwich Programme (2024/2025 Academic Session)

The Students Affairs Division, University of Lagos (UNILAG) has released the schedule of activities for election into executive positions in the UNILAG Sandwich Programme for the 2024/2025 Academic session.

The electoral timetable and guidelines are as indicated below:

3.Friday, Nov. 15, 2024Formation of Electoral Committees by the Sandwich Management and submission of the list of Electoral Committees to the Dean of Student Affairs
4.Monday, Nov. 18, 2024Online filing and submission of nomination forms
5.Thursday, Nov. 19, 2024CITS generates and submits list of contestants to the DSA
6.Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024Release of names of contestants on the University website and Student Affairs Notice Board
7.Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024Presentation of manifestoes (to end by 6.00pm)
8.Friday, Nov. 22, 2024Elections by  e-voting  in all  Faculties and Departments (9.00am – 2.00pm)

The general guidelines for the conduct of the elections are as follows:

  1. The Sandwich Election Committee shall comprise of representatives from each Department involved in the programmes.
  2. All registered students for the 2024/2025 are eligible to vote.
  3. All final year students are eligible to vote and eligible to contest.
  4. All 2024/2025 Fresher’s are eligible to vote but not eligible to contest.
  5. Students who have matriculated in a post-secondary/higher institution other than the UNILAG are not eligible to serve in the Electoral Committee or contest for any position.
  6. Manifesto should be presented in the contestants’ Department and should end by 6.00 pm when students are physically on campus.  Otherwise manifestoes should be presented on Sandwich Department and Faculty electronic platforms.
  7. Elections will commence by 9.00am and closes 2.00pm on Friday, November 22, 2024.  The results of the election will be printed out at the CITS in the presence of representatives of contestants, Security Unit, Dean of Student Affairs, Sandwich Management and Chairmen of Electoral Committees. Subsequently, same result will be posted on the University website.
