Dr. Soluade J. Aroloye of the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Physical and Earth Sciences, University of Lagos (UNILAG), has been appointed Deputy Director II, Adetokunbo Babatunde Sofoluwe Centre for Information Technology and Systems (ABS-CITS).
His one-year tenure takes effect from Sunday, September 7, 2026 to Sunday, September 6, 2027.
In this capacity, Dr. Aroloye will support the Centre’s mandate in information technology and systems, with a focus on advancing digital innovation, research, teaching, and the University’s broader technology-driven initiatives.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, on behalf of the entire University community, congratulates Dr. Aroloye on his appointment and wishes him a successful and impactful tenure.

This appointment is a remarkable recognition of competence, excellence, dedication and capacity. I am particularly proud and delighted because Dr. Soluade is not just a distinguished academic today; he was my secondary school mate and one of the best Mathematics students of our 1999 set. Even from those early days, his brilliance, discipline and intellectual ability were evident.
Today, seeing that same brilliant colleague become a Lecturer at the prestigious University of Lagos and now entrusted with a leadership responsibility at ABS-CITS is truly inspiring. His new role will undoubtedly benefit from his strong academic background, analytical mind and commitment to innovation, research, teaching and technology-driven development.
As a fellow 1999 setmate, I currently serving at the Presidency, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), Department of Career Management Office, and also serving as an Assistant Chief Education Officer at the Federal Training Centre (FTC), North Central Zone, Ilorin, am especially proud to celebrate this milestone with you.
Dr. Soluade, this appointment is well deserved! Your journey from being one of our finest Mathematics students to becoming a university lecturer and now a Deputy Director is a testament to what excellence, perseverance and purposeful growth can achieve.
