On the serene evening of Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, hosted the university community and members of the University of Lagos Women Society (ULWS) to a memorable Christmas Carol event at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge.

The event began with an address by Dr. Taiwo Ipaye, President of the ULWS and Director of the Office of Advancement, who presented a glowing account of the Society’s achievements since assuming office in 2022.

Prof. Ogunsola, visibly delighted, shared nostalgic memories of attending a similar event at a Vice-Chancellor’s lodge, recalling cherished moments spent with her godmother, Mrs. Ajayi, during festive seasons when they would “sing for your supper at Christmas time.” She noted that hosting such a carol service at the Lodge had long been a dream, finally realized despite earlier challenges.
The evening was graced by distinguished guests, including the Vice-Chancellor’s mother, Justice Titilola Mabogunje; her husband, Mr. Segun Ogunsola, family and friends, as well as former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rahamon Bello and his wife, Mrs. Bello. Past and present Principal Officers of the University and members of the university community also honored the occasion with their presence.
The event, beautifully organised by the ULWS, featured soulful Bible readings and enchanting carol renditions by the UNILAG Choir, filling the air with joy, reverence, and the spirit of Christmas.
