UNILAG Library Lovers’ Day 2026 Opens A Perfect Chapter of Love & Learning

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Library is set to host the 5th edition of UNILAG Library Lovers’ Day, a signature annual celebration that continues to position the University Library as a vibrant hub for learning, creativity, and community life. This landmark edition marks five (5) years of bringing together literature, culture, and shared campus experiences in a setting that reimagines the library beyond bookshelves.

Anchored on the theme “5/5 – A Perfect Chapter of Love & Learning,” the 2026 celebration aims to reflect the University’s enduring commitment to intellectual growth, creative expression, and meaningful social engagement among members of the University community.

Programme Highlights
The University Library Quadrangle will be transformed into a lively cultural space, hosting a blend of performances and interactive activities curated to inform, entertain, and inspire:
• Spoken Word & Poetry Slam
A celebration of literary creativity, storytelling, and expressive performance.
• Talent Hunt
Showcasing music, comedy, and a wide range of artistic talents from across the campus.
• Dancing Competition
Dynamic performances designed to energise the audience and elevate the evening.
• Blind Dates & Couples’ Games
Interactive, love-themed activities that encourage participation and shared moments.
• Trade Fair & Product Sampling/Sales Zone
Open throughout the event, providing opportunities for engagement with brands through exhibitions, sampling, and sales.
• Special Performance by a Celebrity Guest Artiste
The evening’s headline performance, set to conclude the celebration on a high note. Can you guess who the guest artiste is?

Call for Entries
Students interested in participating in the Spoken Word & Poetry Slam should please submit their entries to the UNILAG Main Library. Submission closes on Thursday, February 6, 2026.

The UNILAG Library Lovers’ Day 2026 promises an engaging evening where scholarship, creativity, and campus culture converge. Members of the University community are encouraged to attend and be part of this milestone edition as the University writes yet another memorable chapter in its tradition of academic and cultural excellence.
