The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, received the new Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute (CI), UNILAG, Prof. Wu Shuang, at her office on the 11th Floor, Senate House.
During the meeting, Professor Shuang and Professor Ogunsola explored promising opportunities for collaboration. They also discussed plans to enhance the surroundings of the newly renovated CI building, envisioning a vibrant mini-park that beautifully blends Nigerian and Chinese cultures.


The Chinese Director was accompanied by the Nigerian Director of CI, UNILAG, Prof. Obi Iwuagwu; Deputy Director, CI, Dr. Yewande Ntekim-Rex; Ag. Head, Department of Linguistics, African and Asian Studies (LAAS), Dr. Kehinde Oladeji; immediate past Deputy Director and Head, Chinese Unit, LAAS, Dr. Adetoro Banwo; and Deputy Registrar, Mr. Obafemi Keshinro.


The delegation was warmly received by key members of the University management team including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research), Prof. Bola Oboh; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Prof. Afolabi Lesi; and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. ‘Muyiwa Falaiye.
