The Training will hold as follows:
- Date: Monday, May 19 – Wednesday, May 21, 2025
- Time: 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. daily
- Venue: Training Room and Molecular Biology Laboratory, 1st floor, Dr. D. K. Olukoya Central Research & Reference Laboratories (DKO-CRRL), University of Lagos (UNILAG)
The training has the following objectives:
- To introduce participants to the basic principles of molecular biology.
- To provide hands-on experience with foundational molecular biology techniques.
- To develop practical skills for DNA, RNA, and protein handling.
- To promote an understanding of laboratory safety and best practices.
Facilitators include experienced molecular biologists and technical experts such as:
- Prof. J.B Minari (Lead, Gene Editing Research Group)
- Dr. O.I Shola (Pharmacologist and Molecular Biology)
- Dr. T. Fagbayi (Molecular Biologist and Human Genetics)
- Dr. O.D Amusa (Plant Geneticist, Bioinformatics)
- Mr. M.A Adelabu (Chief. Tech. Cell and Molecular Biology)
- Mr. E. A Olugbuyi (Molecular Biologist & Genomics Sequencing Laboratory, DKO-CRRL)
Please note that:
- Registration Deadline is Thursday, May 15, 2025 and Payment Deadline is Sunday, May 18, 2025.
- Training comes with breakfast, lunch, training materials and a certificate of training.
- The first twenty (20) registered applicants will be selected for an additional 2-day free hands-on training on Digital PCR Technology (dPCR) with refreshments and certificate of participation from Monday, May 26 to Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

A laudable training such as this should have clearly defined LEARNING OBJECTIVES as well as LEARNING OUTCOMES. If these are clearly defined, they will elicit interest and participation. Determining the characteristics of the target audience is good, but it will be strengthened if objectives and outcomes are stated as part of the course advertisement.
