The Task Force of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Security Unit has intercepted and handed over recovered plastic waste to the UNILAG Green Hub.
The plastics, seized from individuals unaffiliated with the University and gathered around the Akoka campus, were officially handed to a representative of the UNILAG Green Hub, Mr. Tayo L. Fagbemi, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. This move is part of the University’s efforts to boost its plastic waste collection initiative and enhance its revenue generation base.
The task force team comprising Mr. O. Oshadipe and Mr. A. Adeniran was set up to reclaim plastic waste and other valuable resources, protect the campus from defacement, and uphold the University’s commitment to a clean and secure environment.
The Coordinator of UNILAG Security Unit, Mr. David Omotosho expressed the Unit’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, as well as the environment across the three (3) campuses. With initiatives like this, the University is not only ensuring security but also championing a cleaner and greener future.
