The Paediatric Association of Nigeria led by its President-elect, Prof. Ekanem Ekure, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
The Paediatricians were in the University to solicit support from University Management for its upcoming 55th Annual Conference scheduled for January 14 – 20, 2024 in Lagos state.
The President-elect, who is the current Head, Department of Paediatrics, College of Medicine, UNILAG, gave a brief run-down of the Association, as well as its aims and objectives. She thereafter, solicited for support for the conference in the areas of transportation and funding as it would host over one thousand (1000) members in Lagos.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Prof. Ayodele Atsenuwa congratulated the President-elect on her elected position. She wished the Association a fruitful conference, and mentioned that the University would deliberate upon ways to support the conference. She also suggested that the Association leverages on the University’s strategic partnership with the Lagos State Government in order to make use of some LAMATA buses during the conference.
