The Chairman, University of Lagos Alumni Association, Lagos Branch, Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu along with his wife, on Friday, March 11, 2022, pledged his support towards the NUGA-UNILAG Games 2022 by presenting a cheque of one million naira (₦1,000,000.00) to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, at his office on the 11th floor, Senate House.
This was done while paying a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Olowojebutu commended the work of the able Vice-Chancellor and encouraged him to continue the good work he has been doing at the University of Lagos.
Prof. Ogundipe sincerely appreciated Dr. Olowojebutu for the kind gesture and disclosed that the NUGA journey had seemed impossible when it was started but to the glory of God, the Games would be the best Games ever.
He revealed some of the plans for the UNILAG Sports Centre, disclosed some of the donations made by individuals and organisations. He also mentioned that about 10,000 students would participate in the Games, 75 universities have registered, while about 30 universities will attend as observers in the Games which has been dubbed “City Games”. The Games will be held at different locations across the Lagos metropolis.
The NUGA Games is slated for March 16-26, 2022.
