Fidelis Oditah Delivers Keynote Address at UNILAG Law Alumni Colloquium

Professor Fidelis Oditah, QC, SAN delivered the Keynote Address at the Colloquium of the reunion event of the University of Lagos Law Alumni on Thursday, February 10,2022.

At the J.F. Ade-Ajayi Auditorium venue of the event, Professor Oditah spoke on the legal doctrine of Stare Decisis. Looking elaborately at the pros and cons of the long-standing doctrine, he submitted that a robust system of Law Reporting is key to having an effective system of judicial precedence.

Tagged “The Great Homecoming 2022”, the reunion event of the Faculty of Law brought together alumni across different years as far back as the 70’s, all of who have gone ahead to become leading lights in the legal profession, and are eminently represented in the top echelons of public and corporate governance.

Professor Oluwole Familoni, FAS, represented the Vice-Chancellor at the colloquium.

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, a distinguished alumnus of the Faculty of Law, was the Special Guest of Honour at the colourful and well-attended event. It spanned six days, starting on Monday, February 7 and ending on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
