According to a popular aphorism ‘the extra mile you go in life distinguishes between Success and Failure’. That was the story of School (Green) House, overall winner of the 33rd Annual Inter House Sports Competition of International School (ISL), University of Lagos.
With 10 Gold, 7 Silver and 11 Bronze Medals, School (Green) House topped the Medals Table, closely followed by Senate (Blue) House with 8 Gold, 12 Silver and 5 Bronze Medals; while Bursary (White) House occupied the 3rd position with 8 Gold, 6 Silver and 6 Bronze Medals.



Held at the ISL Sports Field, on Thursday, January 2024, the Inter House Sports Competition (under the Laws of Athletics Federation of Nigeria) provided an avenue for young athletes to be discovered and rewarded accordingly with various cash prizes. These young athletes include Ayeni Kudirat of Registry (Red) House who got the prize for Best Female Athlete (Senior) and Udoh Abasi of Senate (Blue) House who emerged Best Female Athlete (Junior), among others.
Speaking at the Competition which was witnessed by the representatives of the UNILAG Management Team, staff, parents and students of the school, the Principal of ISL, Mr. Kolawole Amusan commended the students and their coaches for the hard work put into achieving success at the competition.



Similarly, the Chairman of the School’s Management Board, Prof. Ngozi Osarenren commended the efforts of all the House Masters and House Mistresses of the various Houses. She reiterated her commitment to efforts aimed at upgrading the school’s facilities.
Declaring the competition open, Chairman of the occasion, Engineer Sylvester Nwadigbo who was represented by Mr. Ifeanyi Nwadigbo thanked the School Management Board for finding him worthy to chair the special event. He pointed out that the competition would provide an opportunity for the display of the students’ potentials beyond the four walls of classrooms.


























Several invited schools participated in various aspects of the competition. These schools include Queen’s College, Yaba; Kings College, Lagos; Methodist Girls High School; Baptist Academy, Obanikoro; C.M.S Grammar School, Bariga; Federal College of Education (Technical) Secondary School, Akoka; Yaba College of Technology Secondary School, Yaba; Grace High School, Gbagada; Green Springs School among others.
