This is to notify academic staff of the University of Lagos, particularly those in the professorial cadre, that applications for the next cycle of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Chairs Programme have been extended till Thursday, January 11, 2024.
The programme aims to enrich knowledge and understanding of the multilateral trading system among academics and policymakers in developing countries through research, curriculum development, and outreach initiatives.
It is specifically tailored for academic institutions in developing and least developed countries that are members or observers in the World Trade Organization (WTO). The call focuses on academic institutions from world sub-regions currently underrepresented in the programme.

Applicants must be supported by a team of at least three academics within the host institution, each demonstrating relevant experience and a keen interest in prolonged engagement with the Chair’s activities.
An essential requirement is the official endorsement by the Vice-Chancellor of the applicant’s university, validating the applicant’s dedication to the objectives of the WTO Chair.
Successful applicants selected for the WTO Chair will receive financial support of up to CHF 50,000 annually for a period of four years.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their application on or before Thursday, January 11, 2024 via this linkÂ
