The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to hold a series of hybrid workshops for its Board Members and Teachers.
Details of the workshops are as indicated below:
- Workshop for SPGS Board Members: Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Theme: Charting the Future: Strategic Planning, Solution-Based Programs and Leadership in Postgraduate Education Time: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Venue: SPGS Boardroom UNILAG
Description: This workshop aims to empower members of the Board, School of Postgraduate Studies with the tools, knowledge, and strategies needed to shape the future of postgraduate education within the institution. Through interactive discussions, collaborative activities, and expert-led sessions, participants will explore key themes including strategic planning, the development of solution-based programs, and effective leadership and governance practices. Key facilitators include the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof L. O. Chukwu and Director, Academic Planning, Prof. M. Ilori.
2. Workshop for PG Teachers: Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Theme: Empowering Excellence: Enhancing Postgraduate Teaching through Effective Strategies, Assessment and Ethics Time: 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Venue: Tayo Aderinokun Hall, UNILAG
Description: This workshop is designed to equip postgraduate teachers with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to excel in their roles as educators. With a focus on effective teaching strategies, assessment and feedback practices, teaching ethics and academic integrity, student experience, and student-centered learning, participants will explore innovative approaches to elevate their teaching practices and enrich the learning experiences of postgraduate students. Key facilitators include the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Professor Lucian O. Chukwu; Director, Quality Assurance & SERVICOM Unit, Professor Muibi O. Saibu; and Dean, SPGS, Professor Abraham A.A. Osinubi.
