In an act of philanthropy aimed at aiding artistic teaching and learning, the Visual Arts Class of 2022, University of Lagos (UNILAG) has donated twenty (20) donkeys and drawing boards to the Department of Creative Arts.
The formal handover ceremony which took place on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the Department foyer was witnessed by staff and students of the Visual Arts unit and other units within the Department.

In a brief remark, Head of Department, Professor Stephen Olu-Ibukun Olusoji expressed gratitude for the gesture. He described the students’ act of generosity as a testament to the sheer commitment to give back to their Alma Mater and inspire future generations of students.
He explained that the Visual Arts Class of 2022 collectively contributed from the proceeds of an Art exhibition “Revelation Exhibition”, which they held earlier in the year.
“The donation aims is not only to support the Creative Arts Department but also to encourage and inspire subsequent cohorts of students” he remarked.
Similarly, a Painting Lecturer of the Visual Arts unit, Dr. Bolaji Ogunwo under whose tutelage the proceeds were gotten, highlighted the donation as significant and inspiring.




He thanked the class for recognizing the importance of providing resources for artistic expression and development within the institution.
