Vice-Chancellor Ogunsola Receives ICAN Lagos Mainland District Excos

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, received a contingent from the Lagos Mainland District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Leading the visiting team was the District Chairman, Mr. Ahmad Oyejide, who doubles as Head of the Salaries and Wages Unit at the University Bursary.

Mr. Oyejide disclosed that their mission was two-fold: to bring the Vice-Chancellor up to speed with the initiatives of the Society regarding support for the Accounting programme of the University; and to inform her of the annual visit of the ICAN President, Dr. Innocent Okwuosa, to the District.

His word: “In line with our mandate to interact with stakeholders in our respective districts, our Society has maintained a cordial relationship with the Accounting programme of the University of Lagos; and, on the basis of that, we have continued to offer our support in various ways.  We also thank the University of Lagos for the constant sponsorship of Accountants in its employ to ICAN conferences. So, it has been a mutually benefiting relationship between the District and the University”.

In response, Vice-Chancellor Ogunsola commended the visiting Executives of the Lagos Mainland District Society. She also declared the readiness of the University to host the ICAN President in April.
