VICE CHANCELLOR CHARGES NIM EXECUTIVES’ ON EMPOWERING STUDENTS

Executives of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), University of Lagos branch, on Monday 30th August 2021, were on a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS to formally introduce themselves at the Senate house since their assumption of office.

The team was led by the branch Chairman, pharm (Dr.) Dorcas Omeire, and was accompanied on the visit by the founding Chairman of the institute at the University of Lagos, Mr. Temidayo Akeju; immediate past Chairman of the institute, Dr. A E Badejo. She remarked that the visit was delayed owing to the global pandemic.

The NIM team discussed on a number of issues with the Vice Chancellor, particularly training and sponsorship requests activities targeted at ensuring wholesome and efficient workforce to all members.

While addressing the Vice Chancellor, the immediate past Chairman, Dr. Badejo also sought the support of the leadership of the University in the area of enacting relevant legislations that will further help the institute to deliver on its mandate of spear-heading the transformation for the country in line with his quest to take the University to the pinnacle of success.

The Vice Chancellor in his remarks, commended the Institute for its drive and promised to support them in the areas of needs, while he charged them on the need to extend their trainings/memberships towards the students. He encouraged the Executives to develop hands-on approach to skills development that includes deeper levels of learning and leadership training through their several programs, citing young people are discovering just how much they can do to make the world a better place. He averred they are potentials needed for the growth and sustainability of the economy.

Onakoya; General Secretary, Mrs. Modupe Williams, Assistant General Secretary, Mrs. Dorcas Olagunju; Treasurer, Mr. Oluyelu; Ex-Officio, Mrs. O.O Agboola-Thomas Akintunde; and Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Helen Oribayo.
