UNILAGFEAA elects Engr. Ogunnoiki as National Chairman

The University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) has elected Engr. Ayotunde Ogunnoiki, FNSE as its new National Chairman.

Other officials elected to steer the activities of UNILAGFEAA for the next two (2) years (2025-2027) are:

  • Engr. (Mrs.) Titilola Oladejo             –           First Vice Chairman
  • Engr. Kabir Oyeleke Akindele          –           Second Vice Chairman
  • Engr. Gbolahan Awonusi                  –           National Secretary
  • Engr. Gabriel Arawole                      –           Assistant National Secretary
  • Engr. (Dr.) Lawrence Osoba             –           Treasurer
  • Engr. Nimot Muili                              –           Financial Secretary
  • Engr. Omotokunbo Aina                   –           Publicity Secretary
  • Engr. (Dr.) Kehinde Orolu                –           National Internal Auditor
  • Engr. Adebola Durowade                 –           Social Secretary
  • Engr. Yemi Adetunji                          –           Alumni Engagement Adviser
  • Engr. Dideolu Falobi, FNSE              –           Immediate Past Chairman (IPC)

The election formed the highpoint of activities at the association’s 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Prof. Rahman Bello Auditorium, UNILAG.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected National Chairman, Engr. Ayotunde Ogunnoiki, FNSE, promised to foster a sense of belonging for every member of the association, and strengthen the alumni network by enabling connections that go beyond geographical boundaries.

Engr. Ogunnoiki, on behalf of his team, also pledged to:

  • initiate programmes aimed at empowering the next generation of engineers with hands-on experience,
  • optimize internship and mentorship programmes and opportunities, as well as
  • ensure the completion of the ongoing Alumni Vertical Extension Building Project.
  • invest in research which will drive innovation and provide solutions to contemporaneous challenges

The incoming National Chairman equally expressed his readiness to establish a robust Endowment Fund which will provide scholarships, resources, and support to those in need while continuing to host resourceful public lectures.

The valedictory speech of the outgoing National Chairman, Engr. Dideolu Falobi highlighted his scorecard of achievements. He attributed the feats recorded during his tenure to the tremendous support received from alumni of the faculty, among whom are Governors Seyi Makinde (of Oyo State) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (of Lagos State) as well as the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele.

Engr. Falobi also appreciated Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, (immediate past Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG) and Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS (incumbent Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG) as well as National leadership of UNILAG Alumni Association led by Dr. John Momoh and Engr. Ife Oyedele respectively.

In his goodwill message, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Samson Adeosun who was represented at the occasion by Professor Peter Oluseyi, appreciated the association for its intervention projects in the faculty.

The 7th AGM of UNILAGFEAA was graced by dignitaries including the President Worldwide, UNILAG Alumni Association (Worldwide), Engineer IfeOluwa Oyedele, FNSE, FAEng; Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Association, Engr. Dr. Oye Eribake; members of BOT, Engr. Titi Omo-Ettu, FNSE, FAEng, Engr. (General) Tunde Adebanjo Rtd., among many other notable alumni.
