A 400-Level student of the Department of Political Science, University of Lagos, Mr. Eyikogbe Toluwalope David, has been announced as one of the winners of the Yiaga Africa Turn Up Democracy Challenge 1.0
His winning entry in the contest was an initiative tagged, “Get Youths Involved”, which aims to create an engagement channel between youths and local government structures in Lagos State, starting from Ikorodu Local Government Area and its five local council development areas.
Also, the project sets out to facilitate open communication and collaboration between the citizens and government through youth-local government parleys across the Local Government Areas in Lagos State.
He will execute the project along with the following members of his team:
- Enitan Adepoju: Head Research and Documentation (400 Level, Department of Political Science).
- Nusaybah Agbelekale: Finance and Budget Manager (2023 Alumnus, Department of Political Science).
- Bada Azeez: Head, Media and Publicity (400 Level, Department of Political Science).
The Yiaga Africa Turn Up Democracy Challenge 1.0 was done in collaboration with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). It recognises initiatives that demonstrate commitment to promoting democracy and community engagement.
