UNILAG School of Foundation Studies Honours outgoing Board Chair, Prof. Bola Oboh, at Send-Forth Ceremony

The School of Foundation Studies (SFS), University of Lagos honoured the outgoing Chairman of its Board, Professor Bola Oboh, at a send-forth ceremony held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

The ceremony, which held during a meeting of the Board, marked her final session as Chairman ahead of the completion of her tenure as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research) on March 28, 2026.

The event was attended by members of the University Management, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, OON. Other members of Management present included Professor Foluso E. A. Lesi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services); Professor Muyiwa Falaiye, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services); Mrs. Abosede V. Wickliffe, Registrar and Secretary to Council; Mrs. Oluwafunmilola Y. Adekunle, Bursar; and Professor Ademola A. Oremosu, Provost, College of Medicine and member of the SFS Board.

In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor commended Professor Oboh for her selflessness, dedication, and institutional loyalty in steering the affairs of the School over the past four years. She noted that the School of Foundation Studies recorded significant milestones under Professor Oboh’s leadership and wished her success in her future endeavours.

Members of the SFS Board also paid glowing tributes to the outgoing Chairman, describing her tenure as impactful and transformational. They acknowledged her commitment to strengthening the School’s academic and administrative structures, which contributed to its growth and achievements during the period.

The Director of the School of Foundation Studies, Professor Khalid Adekoya, highlighted Professor Oboh’s exemplary leadership qualities, noting that her strategic guidance and support were instrumental to the progress recorded by the School during her tenure.

Responding, Professor Oboh expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, members of Management, the SFS Board, and staff of the School for their cooperation and support over the last four years. She stated that the successes recorded during her tenure were a collective effort and would not have been possible without the dedication of Board members and staff.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a portrait to Professor Oboh by the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the School of Foundation Studies.
