The National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team for Medical Laboratory Sciences arrived the campus of the University of Lagos on Monday, November 6, 2023.
The 3-member team was received by members of the UNILAG management led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics and Research, Professor Bola Oboh who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS.
While welcoming the accreditation team, Prof Oboh reiterated the university’s openness to fair and objective assessments of its programmes.


She assured the NUC team of cooperation from all relevant officers and emphasized that UNILAG has, over the years leveraged feedback and suggestions from accreditation exercises to improve on its programmes.
In his remarks, leader of the NUC Accreditation team, Professor Charles Oyenekwe described their assignment as a peer review exercise devoid of a witch hunt or any ulterior motive.
While acknowledging and appreciating the warm reception courtesy of the university, Prof. Oyenekwe expressed hopes that the accreditation exercise will not only give room for exchange of ideas but also allow for suggestions for the purpose of improvement.
After the courtesy visit, the team immediately commenced its assignment.
