The Management team of the University of Lagos, on Thursday, September 15, 2022, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Emeritus Professor Isaac Ayinde Adalemo, a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University.
The Emeritus Professor of Geography had passed on to glory on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at St. Vincent Medical Center, Ohio, United States of America, after a brief illness.
The team, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Development Services), Professor Ayodele Atsenuwa included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academic and Research), Professor Bola Oboh; Registrar, Oladejo Azeez, Esq, and Director, Quality Assurance and Servicom, Professor Grace Otinwa.
Going down memory lane, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor described the late Professor as a noble and hardworking gentleman whom she enjoyed working with while she served as a member of the Students Advisory Board, which he led as the Chairman. She described him as an institution that had a huge impact on her as a young Academic.

Her words “Prof was not just a well-sought after academic and a professional leader, but also a social captain whose life was worthy of emulation. It is the legacy of people like him that has kept the University of Lagos as a brand and he will be missed not only for his sharp intellect but also for his immense contributions”.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor also pledged the University’s support to the burial arrangements being made by the family. Thereafter, she signed the condolence register.
Born on June 4, 1939, Emeritus Professor Isaac Ayinde Adalemojoined the services of the University of Lagos as an Assistant Lecturer in 1965 and rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Geography in 1977. After his retirement from active service in 2004 at the age of 65, the University honoured him with the conferment of Emeritus Professor of Geography in 2013.
