It’s three (3) days to Valentine’s Day and just as Kizz Daniel sang in RTID (Rich Till I Die), “Love is in the air, wear face mask♪ ” or better yet come and have fun in the University of Lagos Library.
While your mates are stalking other people’s relationships on Instagram, come and play games, win, dance and eat!
Another Valentine’s day is just around the corner and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) is bringing back UNILAG LIBRARY LOVERS DAY!
Last year, we celebrated Valentine’s day in a different way for library lovers. Some people don’t have boos, only books. So they’ve given their all to their studies. So we decided to celebrate these people and how societal pressure has nothing on them because Valentine’s day or no Valentine’s day, they love their books (boos) everyday!
For last year’s UNILAG Library Lovers Day, the following events were lined up:
- Why I love my library board – where people were given the opportunity to write the various reasons they love the library.
- A short speech from the wife of the now former VC of UNILAG.
- Dancing and games
- And finally, menu! Menu!! Menu!!!
This year, we are coming back bigger and better! The theme for UNILAG Library Lovers’ Day 2.0 is “MY LOVE FOR THE LIBRARY.”
Activities to look forward to include games like:
• Pull out a book
• Speedy reading
• Spoken word competition
• Dancing competition and lots more.
Food!!! Music!!! Fun!!!

And guess what? UNILAG Library is also partnering with Isle of Zimas to bring you an amazing photobooth. The photobooth will be open from Monday, February 13, 2023 at the library entrance.
