The Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, on Thursday, July 22, 2021, played host to a set of potential investors. They were treated to a luncheon at the Natural History Museum and then a tour of some parts of the University.

After the luncheon, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development Services, Prof. Ayodele Atsenuwa, gave a low-down on the University, highlighting the various Faculties, achievements over the years and innovations. She also touched on the University’s entrepreneurship drive and how it patents works and ideas of our students, among other things.

After the brief pitch, the tour was commenced. The potential investors took a look at our prototype innovations, such as the “AmbuVent” created last year during the corona virus pandemic, Katenate-Oye Organic Chemistry Board Game based on the periodic table of elements and a Photonomics jaundice machine for the treatment of jaundice in new-born babies, which is in its proof-of-concept stage.
Then they moved to the lagoon front to see its remodelled look and the University Library to see and interact with “RoboScholar”, CRUZR robots donated by Platform Capital in 2020.

Afterwards, some of the potential investors took a short ride in our zero-emission vehicle, the “UNILAG ZEV” produced by the Faculty of Engineering.
The investors were then led to the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Centre and lastly, the UNILAG Business School domiciled in the HRDC building close to the back gate of the institution.
The investors dispersed from University impressed with all they had seen.
