UNILAG Hosts House of Reps TETFund Technical Committee

The University of Lagos Management received a delegation of the House of Representatives TETFund Technical Committee on Oversight on Monday, May 5, 2025.

The four-man team visited UNILAG to inspect TETFund projects executed between 2021 and 2024.

The business of the day kicked off at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room (10th Floor, UNILAG Senate House) where members of the University Management including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics and Research, Professor Bola Oboh; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development Services, Professor Foluso Afolabi-Lesi; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management Services, Professor Muyiwa Falaiye and the University Registrar, Mrs. Victoria Wickliffe were all on ground to receive the National Assembly delegation and brief them on the task at hand. They were also joined by Architect Olaide Oladokun and Engineer Olaniyi Ayeye, of the University’s Works and Physical Planning Department.

Thereafter, the delegation moved to various locations across the institution to inspect a number of projects, including the Arts Theatre situated beside the UNILAG Senate House, Moremi (Female) Hostel and King Jaja (Male) Hostel which have all undergone different stages of renovation and rehabilitation.

They were also at the newly built administrative block of the Scholars’ Suites, and water project situated along the Ransom Kuti Road of the University, as well as the Saburi Biobaku (Male) Hostel and Kofoworola Ademola (Female) Hostel which are currently at various stages of rehabilitation.

After the inspection, the entire team returned to Senate House to discuss their findings. During the appraisal meeting, members of the House of Representatives TETFund Technical Committee took turns to share their thoughts and impressions about the projects inspected.

The team acknowledged and appreciated the level and quality of work done at all the project sites visited. They also made few recommendations with a view to ensuring optimization of the resources committed to the projects.
