The WAF delegation included the Foundation’s Director General, Teresa Langle De Paz; Belen Cadro; Ainhoa Marin as well as Irene Izejwire and Evelyn Lanka who are facilitators of the program from Cranfield University. They were accompanied by recipients of the WAF leadership training programme including Professor Ayoka Olusakin, Professor Grace Otinwa, and Professor Ngozi Okafor.

Professor Atsenuwa expressed delight at the leadership development training program of the Foundation. According to her, the University of Lagos is particularly impressed with the Foundation for its Nigeria Wins Project, especially as its focus is on equipping women-academics with leadership skills.

She implored the facilitators to extend the programme to the non-teaching staff of the university, stressing that “this was crucial so that everyone would be on the same page as far as leadership orientation at the University is concerned”.

The Director General of the Foundation, Teresa Langle De Paz disclosed that this was the first time the Foundation will be hosting a programme with focus on women-academics. She said the Foundation had in the past held training progrmmes for women-politicians and influential women leaders in the society.

According to her, the Foundation is confident that women-academics will share this knowledge in the classroom with future leaders, who will benefit from their wealth of experience.

One of the beneficiaries of the programme, Professor Grace Otinwa, described the programme as deeply enhancing. Her words, “I have been richly blessed by the teachings on emotional intelligence, teaching methodology, and mentoring skills.”
