It was the last of the series of Walks for Life in support of NUGA-UNILAG 2022 Games. It had rained the night before and the weather was cool. Saturday, March 12, 2022 was another opportunity for staff, students, and residents of the University of Lagos community to demonstrate the wisdom of having a healthy body in a sound mind.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS and other members of Management led the community on a long and brisk walk around the breadth of the campus. The train of physical fitness enthusiasts took off from the Sports Centre at some minutes past 7:00am and was back at the same venue in a few hours, into the waiting hands of Physical Health instructor who was on hand to facilitate the last session of aerobics.



Professor Ogundipe, FAS, and the crew of pressmen present at the event went on a tour of facilities being made ready for the games. Thereafter, he had a heart-to-heart session with the contingent of athletes who are to represent the University of Lagos at the various sporting competitions, charging them to do their best for the glory of UNILAG.

The NUGA-UNILAG Games 2022 is the 26th edition in the series of university games in Nigeria and will commence on Wednesday, 16th March, 2022. It promises to be a city-wide game, as the University of Lagos is set to host 75 universities from all over the country, about 6,000 athletes, 500-plus officials, 200 sports journalists, 5,000 guests, 100,000 live spectators, and over 5million television viewers globally.
