The 1998 Alumni Set of the Department of Geography, University of Lagos, has donated two (2) multimedia speakers to their Alma Mater.
The Acting Head of Department, Dr. Mayowa Fasona, along with a cross-section of staff received the donation from the Set’s representatives which included: Mr. Oluite Kuku, Toyin Yusuf, Mr. Tosin Adefeso and Mr. Chuka Nwosu.
Dr. Fasona thanked the ’98 Set for their thoughtfulness and sense of giving back. He expressed optimism that the gesture will encourage more alumni sets to identify with the Department.
He revealed that the process of building a global Geography alumni database had commenced, in order to enhance feedback and facilitate mentorship of current generation of students.
This latest donation is coming almost two years after the Year 2000 Alumni Set renovated, painted and equipped Room GO5, Arts Block (one of the Department’s classrooms) with one (1) projector, one (1) digital Hitachi Projector Board and eleven (11) ceiling fans.
