UNILAG Dons Represent Nigeria on MDS Strategic Committee

Two scholars of the University of Lagos from the College of Medicine, Idi-Araba have represented Nigeria on the Strategic Planning Committee of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS), Africa Section.

Professor Ademola Oremosu of the Department of Anatomy (Neuroscientist) and Dr. Omolara Ojo of the Department of Medicine(Associate Professor and Consultant Neurologist) were a part of top Neurologists and Neuroscientists from across Africa who converged at the Movenpick Hotel and Residences, Nairobi, Kenya, from April 27 to 28, 2024 for the all-important meeting.

At the Strategic Committee meeting, members brainstormed on the future of Movement Disorders care and arrived at very significant decisions that will put the practice of that medical specialty in Africa on a solid footing.

Participants came from Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Madagascar, (Morocco),Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa.
