UNILAG Don takes STEM education to female students in Lagos   

The second phase of the 2022-2023 American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Community Grant titled, “Demystifying STEM for Nigerian Females: A Chance for the Girl Child will commence on Wednesday, January 25 and run till Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  

The project grant, won by an Associate Professor of the Department of Microbiology, University of Lagos, Olayide Folashade Obidi, is part of efforts to bridge the gender gap as well as mitigate the disparity and current under-representation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), especially amongst Nigerian girls.

Female students from selected secondary schools in Lagos participated in the first phase of the project which held from July 1 to November 20, 2022.
