REMINDER OF THE EXISTENCE OF WILLS CLINIC

The Faculty of Law, University of Lagos wishes to remind all staff members of the existence of a WILLS CLINIC at the Faculty.

The WILLS CLINIC was established to mitigate the challenges associated with the processing of a Letter of Administration and to give legal backing to the beneficiaries of a deceased who are unable to have access to the assets of the deceased due to non-availability of a WILL.

It would be recalled that the Pension Reform Act 2014 specifies that either a validly processed WILL or LETTER OF ADMINISTRATION is the only acceptable/valid document needed to process death benefits.

This position nullifies the use of Next-of-kin Form.

All members of staff are therefore advised to visit the WILLS CLINIC on the ground floor, Faculty of Lagos for consultation on WILL-related and other Estate planning matters.
