The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, led other senior officials of the University of Lagos to the sod-turning ceremony of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) new site which held at Maclean Street, Yaba, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

The Registrar of the Board, Professor Wale Okunnuga, in his address noted that the facility is a four-storey building and upon completion will serve as a Guest House, aimed at improving the capacity of the organisation to provide accommodation, particularly for visiting officers who come to accredit the programmes of the Board.

He revealed that the four-storey building project which will, in the months and years ahead, serve as a ready reference for other institutions, is the response to the Board’s outcry over accommodation expenditure.

Thereafter, the Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers present at the event performed the sod turning ritual one after the other. He also shared the same notion as the Registrar that the Guest House would be a destination, where travellers will experience home away from home in pure luxury and comfort.
