As the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Mr. Sunday Adekalu Alao, officially bows out of office today, March 12, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola OON, FAS, has commended him for his dedicated service to the University.
The commendation came during Mr Alao’s visit to the office of the Vice-Chancellor where he was received by Professor Ogunsola and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics and Research, Professor Bola Oboh.


Prof. Ogunsola appreciated the outgoing CSO for the security, safety and orderliness which UNILAG enjoyed all through Mr. Alao’s tenure, and wished him continued success in his endeavor.
Mr. Alao was first appointed as Chief Security Officer on March 13, 2019. After completing his initial five-year tenure, his service was extended for an additional year, beginning from March 13, 2024.


Mr. Sunday Alao joined the service of UNILAG in 2003 as a Duty Officer and rose through the ranks to become acting Head of Security Unit in 2018 before assuming the CSO role.
