These were just a few of the heartfelt accolades shared by faculty members and staff as they came together on Thursday, May 29, 2025, to celebrate Professor Abdul-Hameed Adeola Sulaimon as he rounds off his tenure as Dean, Faculty of Management Science (FMS), University of Lagos (UNILAG).






Held at Rm 14 of the FMS New Building, the event was marked by an outpouring of emotional tributes from staff and colleagues, who praised Professor Suleiman’s leadership style; anchored on mutual respect, collaboration, and commitment to progress. Their voices, filled with sincerity and emotion, captured the essence of the outgoing Dean’s transformative impact.
The occasion provided a platform for Professor Suleiman to give an account of his stewardship as Dean, a position he assumed on August 1, 2023. Professor Suleiman reflected on his tenure that re-shaped the Faculty’s physical infrastructure, academic expertise, and human resources.

He spotlighted the Faculty’s growing international recognition including the two outstanding students from the Department of Accounting and Finance: Ozegbe, Precious Ndidiamaka, and Odusanwo, Oluwafumilayo, who secured highly competitive internships at the World Bank.
According to him, both Ozegbe and Odusanwo later received employment offers from the global financial institution, an achievement attributed to the Faculty’s emphasis on character-building and global preparedness.
Other achievements listed by Professor Sulaimon include:
- FMS Light Up Campaign;
- Hosting of impactful conferences in 2024 and 2025 that tackled emerging business challenges;
- Facelift of the Faculty’s reception area;
- Honoring of four (4) pioneering female professors of the Faculty, by unveiling their portraits, to celebrate their contributions and inspire for future generations;
- Strategic partnerships with industry leaders to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world practice, and equip graduates with the practical skills needed to thrive in today’s complex business landscape;
- Professional development of staff through in-house training, grants accessibility, and support for academic advancement, among others.

The event also featured an award ceremony honoring faculty members who have excelled in their respective roles and contributed significantly to the faculty’s success.











Although the deanship of Professor Abdul-Hameed Adeola Sulaimon will formally end on Thursday, July 31, 2025, the impact of his leadership will continue to resonate for years to come.
