Several teams of the National Universities Commission have arrived the University of Lagos for the accreditation of the following programmes: Petroleum and Gas Engineering, Estate Management, Surveying & Geoinformatics, Industrial Mathematics, Geology, Microbiology and Zoology.
The teams were led on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, by the Director, Academic Planning Unit, Prof. Olusoji Ilori on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. On hand to receive the teams were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Prof. Ayodele Atsenuwa; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Lucian Chukwu and Acting Registrar, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde.




Welcoming the teams to the University on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Prof. Atsenuwa expressed optimism that the teams would carry out fair assessments of the programmes, point out areas the university is doing well and areas that need improvement.

In response, the Chairman of the Petroleum & Gas Engineering Team, Prof. A. S. Sambo of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, on behalf of the teams noted that the accreditation exercise was not a witch-hunting exercise. He assured that the teams would follow NUC guidelines in carrying out their assignments.
