Three Accreditation Teams of the National Universities Commission (NUC) have arrived at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for the accreditation of Botany, Business Education, and Dentistry.



The teams which include reputable academics from across Nigeria were received by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS along with the Provost of the College of Medicine, Professor David Oke; Acting Registrar, Mrs. Olakunle Esther Makinde and Director of Academic Planning, Professor Olusoji Mathew Ilori on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in the Senate Chamber of the institution.



While welcoming the team, the Vice-Chancellor stressed the crucial role of the accreditation process in maintaining quality assurance, and ensuring that universities offer programs that meet national and international standards.
Her words “…for us as an institution we need to know where to improve on because nobody can escape an audit of this kind. We look forward to your constructive criticisms even as I hope that you enjoy your stay here with us”

The teams are expected to compile a report detailing their findings and recommendations for each program. These reports will be used by the University to make necessary improvements and adjustments to ensure compliance with NUC’s standards.
