Members of the KB Club, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, today at his office in the Senate Building.

Led by their President, Mr. Aiyeyemi Abimbola, they were on ground to congratulate him on the successful hosting of the 2022 NUGA Games, and to intimate him with their current activities and upcoming programmes.

One of such programmes is the STACK Conference 2022, which would be a gathering of health professionals and students from across the nation to deliberate on the subject of transforming healthcare through financial technology. It would also double as a youth entrepreneurship development platform, where participants will pitch ideas on the intersection between health service delivery and financial technology.

The Vice-Chancellor, in his response, commended members of the KB Club for the excellent work of service that they are doing. He commended how they demonstrate the excellent spirit of the UNILAG Student in how they combine philanthropy social service, and their medical education. He gave his commitment toward supporting their upcoming event with the donation of the event venue and venue for logistics. He also promised to personally donate toward their social service projects.

The KB Club is a medical socio-philanthropic organisation of medical students of the College of Medicine, UNILAG. It was founded in 1969 by a group of medical students, headed by Professor Oladapo Ashiru (OFR), one of club’s Grand Patrons. It operates on a tripod of philanthropy, academic excellence, and social empowerment.
