The Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS), University of Lagos, cordially invites members of the university community and the general public to its Open Day, scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Established in 2017, the IADS has rapidly emerged as one of the most dynamic research institutes on the continent, with a clear mandate focused on Research (70%), teaching (20%), and Advocacy(10%). In 2024, the Institute proudly marked its seventh anniversary, celebrating years of impactful contributions to scholarship and policy discourse on Africa and its Diasporas.
The Open Day will commemorate this milestone, while creating a platform for dialogue, feedback, and collaboration.

The event will highlight the Institute’s contributions to research, academic development, and advocacy. It will also provide an opportunity for stakeholders and participants to offer recommendations aimed at deepening the Institute’s impact.
