“University of Lagos: The 6th Decade” is the third book on the history of the University of Lagos, which was established in 1962. This book documents the changes that have occurred in the physical and intellectual landscape of the University over the last ten years. It is structured into fifteen chapters, and contains contributions from professionals from different Faculties in the University.
Edited by R. T. Akinyele and Olufunke Adeboye, the book was published to commemorate the Diamond Anniversary of the University of Lagos.
Over the years, two editions have been published; the first book titled, “A History of the University of Lagos, 1962 – 1987”, edited by A. B. Aderibigbe and T. G. O. Gbadamosi. It was published in 1987 to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the University.
The second edition was the landmark publication titled, “A History of the University of Lagos, 1962 – 2012”. It documented the history of the University of Lagos in the first fifty years of its existence. It was edited by R. T. Akinyele and Olufunke Adeboye and published in 2013.
