Faculty of Science Holds Special Seminar Series, June 4

 

The Faculty of Science cordially invites members of staff and the University community to the special edition of its Staff Seminar Series, scheduled as follows:

Venue: Board Room, Faculty of Science

The Seminar will feature Professor Wayne Scales, the founding Director of the Centre for Space Science and Engineering Research at Virginia Tech (Space@VT), who will speak on the topic; “A Space Weather Radar in Nigeria: Research, Education and Collaborative Opportunities with Virginia Tech”.

Professor Wayne Scales is currently an affiliate Professor in the Crofton Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering at Virginia Tech, with a research focus in the area of space plasma turbulence with applications to active space experiments, natural space plasma turbulence in the ionosphere and magnetosphere, dusty space plasmas, and the impact on modern technology including communication and navigation systems
