The Faculty of Dental Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL), successfully commemorated this year’s World Oral Health Day with a special outreach programme aimed at promoting oral hygiene and providing free dental services to the public.
Held under the theme, “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Mind”, the event took place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the UNILAG Medical Centre, Akoka.
The outreach programme was well-attended and provided essential dental care services to numerous individuals. Highlights of the event included:
• Oral Health Talk: Experts delivered insightful discussions on common oral health problems, warning signs, and available treatment options.
• Free Oral Examinations: Participants received professional dental check-ups to assess their oral health.
• Free Dental Cleaning
• Free Dental Fillings
• Awareness Campaign: Attendees were informed about the newly opened Dental Clinic at the UNILAG Medical Centre.
• Referrals for Advanced Treatment: Individuals requiring specialized care were referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
The initiative reinforced the importance of oral health and provided valuable services to the community, furthering the faculty’s commitment to ensuring access to essential dental care.
