On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, the Chairman, University of Lagos Alumni Association Lagos Branch, Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu led other members of the Executive Committee on a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe FAS.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Olowojebutu used the occasion to pay glowing tributes to the Vice Chancellor who, in spite of unfavourable circumstances, continues to find a way to steer the UNILAG ship forward.
He also commended the Vice-Chancellor for the immense support he has consistently given to the Alumni Association since their assumption of office in December 2020. He particularly expressed gratitude to Professor Ogundipe for the piece of land he enthusiastically donated for proposed for the Alumni Building. This great support, he said, has ultimately made the journey much easier for the association.
In his response, Professor Ogundipe stated that his desire has always been to do his best for the growth and development of the UNILAG brand.
“Since joining UNILAG in 1990, my vision has always been to take the UNILAG brand to greater heights and I must say that at Management level, we are proud of the successes recorded so far’’, he said.
The Vice-Chancellor thereafter appealed to the Chairman and and his team members to remain focused on their vision, because that is what people would remember them for when they are no longer in office.
Mr. Olusegun Adeleke, Vice Chairman I of Alumni Association , appreciated the immense support of the Vice-Chancellor since their assumption of office. He pledged the support of the Alumni Association to the university with several projects that will aid its aspiration to being a world-class institution of learning.
As a token of their appreciation, the Alumni Executives presented a portrait of himself to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS.
