By holding the EIBIC programme for DLI and ICE freshmen also, the University reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates across all programmes on campus.
The EIBIC programme provided an invaluable opportunity for students to explore the vast potential of entrepreneurship by connecting them with industry experts and successful entrepreneurs. The programmeencouraged participants to think creatively and seize opportunities that extend beyond their core academic disciplines.
Through engaging sessions led by industry professionals, participants were encouraged to harness their innovative and entrepreneurial spirit early in their academic journey. Professor Atsenuwa noted that it was high time the nation looked beyond importation of goods and services and rather design innovative ways through which Nigeria’s economy can be based on home-grown ideas and business solutions. She averred that this would surely strengthen the country’s economy and open doors for exportation and diversification of resources.
Citing several real-life testimonials of UNILAG students who have gone on to acquire for themselvesnotable international investments and become serial entrepreneurs, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor assured the students at the EIBIC Programme of the University’s unwavering support to its students, available through the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Centre (ESDC) of the University; the innovative, NITDA-IT Hub (NitHub); Innovation and Technology Management Office (ITMO);Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab (AIROL) Design Lab, to mention a few.
