Dr. Olawale Olaniyi Ajibola of the Department of Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos has been deployed to the National Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation (NCEEC) sited in the University of Lagos as Acting Director.
He replaces Dr. Emmanuel Ogedengbe of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Ajibola’s posting is contained in a letter written to the office of the Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos and signed by the Director-General/CEO, Energy Commission of Nigeria, Professor Eli Jidere Bala, in hope that the deployment is in the best interest of the NCEEC, the University of Lagos being the host institution and the nation at large.
Dr. Ajibola who is a Reader in the Systems Engineering Department of UNILAG is to oversee activities in the office pending the appointment of a substantive Director to head the commission.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe FAS congratulates Dr Olawale Ajibola on his posting and wishes him a success in his new office.
Prof. Ogundipe who is also the chairman, Advisory Board of the National Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation (NCEEC) equally commends the former Acting Director; Dr. Ogedengbe for his impactful services while he served as the Acting Director of the NCEEC.
Dr Olawale Ajibola joined the services of the University of Lagos in 1995 as an Assistant Lecturer, he is currently an Associate Professor.
Established in 2008, the National Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation (NCEEC) situated at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos is one of six research centres within the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), its core responsibility is to organize and conduct research and development in energy efficiency and conservation.
