From “Born is the Light of the World” to “Long time ago in Bethlehem” to a dance performance and beautiful music from the Department orchestra to a thrilling theatre performance, down to “We wish you a Merry Christmas”, the Department of Creative Arts, University of Lagos (UNILAG) thrilled the university community to an evening of good music, dance and drama on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
The festival with the theme “Christmas in UNILAG”, featured beautiful pieces from the AfriCaribbean Carnival Band, Department Choir, Department Orchestra, a solo performance from a student of University of Lagos International School (ISL), Jessica Onyekaba and an art exhibition at the entrance of the Creative Arts auditorium.
The auditorium was packed to the brim with students and staff spilling to the outside. The University Management was not left out of the action, as the Vice-Chancellor and lover of art & culture, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, wowed the audience with her rendition of “O Little Town of Bethlehem”.
