January is Cervical Health Awareness Month and the Medical Centre in its continuous effort to
provide proactive preventive health services will be commemorating the month with a cervical
health awareness campaign, screening for cancerous changes and vaccination against human
papilloma virus (HPV), which is a cervical cancer causing virus, to all female staff thirty (30)
years and above who did not participate in the screening exercise during the 2018 Staff medical
Screening (SMS).
Vaccination and screening help to prevent this cancer and can help detect early cervical changes
which are treatable. Prevention is better than cure!
