Call for Application for Sponsorship Under The TETFUND Conference Attendance Intervention

Academic and Non-Teaching Members of Staff of the University of Lagos are hereby notified of the TETFUND Conference Attendance Intervention.

Interested members of staff are advised to visit the Academic Planning Unit to obtain and submit their application forms, according to the following guidelines:

S/NDESCRIPTIONTarget Audience
1 It must be an academic conference organized by academic institutions, learned society, and/or recognized and reputable professional bodies. Predatory conferences being organized by third party Predatory Conference Organizers (PCOs) must not be recommended to the Fund.Academic Staff
2The registration fee for the conference MUST NOT EXCEED N100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) for conferences in Nigeria, and $500 (Five hundred US dollars) for conferences abroad.Academic & Non-Teaching Staff
3The duration of the conference must not exceed five (5) days.Academic & Non-Teaching Staff
4Non-Teaching Staff on the other hand can attend Workshops/Conferences but for a period not exceeding 5 days.Non-Teaching Staff
5For Group Conference /Workshop: Only a maximum of 7 (Seven) Teaching Staff of a department could attend a group conference (and not workshop) within a given intervention year.

Academic Staff
6For Group Conference /Workshop: Non-Teaching Staff could attend group workshops organized by recognized Public Institutions.Non-Teaching Staff
7TETFund and customized UNILAG application forms must be obtained from Academic Planning Unit from Wednesday, 20th December, 2023 and be submitted on or before Friday, 15th March, 2024. Please ensure that the Conference date is at least three (3) months after the deadline for submission (For example, conferences from June 2024 and after).Academic & Non-Teaching Staff
 Eligibility 
1 Must be a Nigerian full-time Staff of the University.Academic & Non-Teaching Staff
2Must apply to attend and participate in an Academic conference organized by Academic Institutions, learned society (regional, national or international one), and/or recognized professional bodies.Academic Staff
3Must have a paper accepted for oral presentation at the conference to be attended.Academic Staff
4Staff previously sponsored by the Fund to attend and present paper at any conference must present evidence of attendance and presentation [certificate of attendance, conference proceedings etc] before qualifying to be sponsored to attend another conference with TETFund support.Academic Staff
5Any Staff that was previously sponsored by the Fund to attend and present a paper at an international conference must present evidence of publishing at least one
(1) article in any first quartile journal or two
(2) articles in any second quartile journals before qualifying to be sponsored to attend another international conference.
Academic Staff
6You can only be sponsored to attend and present paper at an international conference once every two (2) years.Academic & Non-Teaching Staff
7Principal Officers can be recommended to attend local or international conference once in three (3) years. All subsisting requirements under this guideline apply.Principal Officers
8Submission for Conference attendance should indicate the present status and salary scale of attendees.Academic & Non-Teaching Staff
9Conference flyer indicating conference themes, registration fee and conference duration should be attached to your application.Academic & Non-Teaching Staff
10All successful beneficiaries are to forward the following to the Academic Planning Unit after their Conferences: Certificate of Attendance Evidence of registration for the ConferencePictures at the Conference venue and Copies of boarding passes (for foreign conferences).
