Rhema Joseph Ahonsi of the Department of Creative Arts, Faculty of Art, University of Lagos emerged UNILAG Mr. JAMBITE while Akwuobi Genevieve Chinaecherem of the Science and Technology Department, Faculty of Education won the crown of UNILAG Miss JAMBITE.
The contest, which took place on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the J.F. Ade-Ajayi Auditorium of the university, was part of activities lined up to acclimatise the Freshmen with their new environment, and to promote social interactions among them. The J.F. Ade-Ajayi Main Auditorium was filled to capacity, as the contestants thrilled their frenzied audience with their fashion and pageantry prowess.
In her remarks, a friend of the University and Philanthropist, Engr. Dr Funmi Yinka, charged the students to see their admission into the University of Lagos as a call beyond academics. While buttressing the need to meet the expectation of their parents, family members, sponsors and well-wishers in their academic pursuits, the Music Record Label also implored the students to reach and explore their innate abilities, just as they pursue their academics.
